Title

The Importance of Plamu (Atlantic Salmon) to the Mi’gmaq of Listuguj and Eel River Bar First Nation

Description

The overall purpose of this project is to gain a better understanding of the Atlantic salmon and its relationship to the Mi’gmaq people of Eel River Bar and Listuguj.

The GMRC will develop a documentary style video to raise awareness on the Atlantic salmon as a species at risk, while promoting the protection of the species. Community members will be directly involved as the documentary, and it will focus on how culturally important both the species, and the fishery is to the Mi’gmaq of each community.
